Solar ATAP Program

Solar ATAP, or the Accelerated Transition Action Programme, is Malaysia's new rooftop solar framework launching December 1, 2025, to replace the previous Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme. It allows users to sell excess solar energy back to the grid at a market-based rate (System Marginal Price, or SMP), with the potential to install systems up to 100% of their maximum demand. The program is designed to boost renewable energy adoption by making rooftop solar more accessible and attractive to businesses and homes.
